Virtual Class Project #1

1 Week Virtual Project: UpCycled Art

Student Objectives: First-Year Students

After completion of the lecture and the class exercises, the students will develop an UpCycled Art Example that shows all the percentages of a greyscale, from 100% white to 100% black, with all of the shapes and lines built up by contrast to a finished piece of portfolio level.

Forth Marking Period

Project #2 .... Due Friday, April 3rd

So, What’s Next!

As a class we talked a little about the 4th Marking Period Projects… This is an opportunity for you to really dive into a set of projects that would be a career choice. If you click on the 4th Marking Period Tab you will see a breakdown of 4 projects for each level. Since this is the first year we are trying this exploration all of you would be in the first level.

With that said, if you are a senior, feel free to pick whatever project you would like. Here’s the catch… not all of you may have the software to complete some of the sections so feel free to pic a career exploration that you may like… But unless you are senior, STAY IN THE FIRST LEVEL PLEASE. ( I would also do them in order)

Some of the assignments may have very specific size requirements, but because of the situation, we are in, develop the projects to whatever options you may have at home. You can all do all of the assignments as a drawing if you need too!

Remember this, all these projects are career-based, just like what you would get from a client, it is your job to answer the design project with your best solution. These should all be portfolio-level at this point in your careers!

Each one of these projects should take you a week to play with… So have fun and send your results each Friday by the end of the day! You have all been in the program now and know what a good piece looks like.

I want to take the week for everyone to get caught up, you will not lose any points if you turn them.

if you are all caught up… Take a break!

Also, I have had a few emails about getting your portfolio’s and supplies from the school, at this point I went in on Friday and went through your lockers and gathered your stuff together with bags and name tags.

With that said, I do not know when the school will allow you to go back in.

… and one last thing, I still see a few students not turning in anything,  please reach out to the your friends and have them contact me ASAP… At this point, the schools will begin to start applying failing grades for the 4th marking period.

Thank you again for all your great work,

Mr. Bross

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Students must be prepared to make a major commitment. It is our assumption that students entering the program are here to lay a foundation for a career in a design field and will be required to meet rigorous and stringent standards. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required as is the ability to read and analyze. Serious students will find that the program will provide them with an excellent opportunity to develop the skills necessary to succeed in the job market or advance in education. _Most of the students graduating from the program _continue their education.
