Students must be prepared to make a major commitment. It is our assumption that students entering the program are here to lay a foundation for a career in a design field and will be required to meet rigorous and stringent standards. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required as is the ability to read and analyze. Serious students will find that the program will provide them with an excellent opportunity to develop the skills necessary to succeed in the job market or advance in education. _Most of the students graduating from the program _continue their education.

S2 - DAY ONE - Drawing The Figure - 8 Headed Figure

  • The art consisted of warrior art and stone relief work. These are slabs of clay that were used as architectural elements like wall facings. 

  • On these sculptures, there were names of rulers, sort of like hieroglyphic inscriptions. Many rulers that were carved into these slabs are on different monuments. 

  • These hieroglyphics show their right to rule and other matters like their power. 

  • There have also been examples of the carved pieces being used sort of like a timeline or a narrative scene. These were also used for tombs.

What Makes a Great Headline?

From the early days of advertising, to today's billboards, print ads, an social media posts, headlines are one of the most important aspects of the craft. A good headline can attract attention. A great headline can turn a prospective customer into a sale. But what is the difference between headlines that just do the job, and headlines that really get under the skin of the consumer? To answer that, let's first examine what a headline is:
 

Basic Definition

A headline in advertising grabs the attention much like a newspaper's headline. An advertising headline is designed to be the first copy the potential customer reads, and is usually written by a copywriter but can also be crafted by a copywriter/art director team, or anyone in the creative department. Bold text, large font size, and various colors are some of the methods used to make the headline stand out from copy. A headline must be written well in order to be effective and draw the reader into the ad. 

Examples of Advertising's Best Headlines

There are thousands upon thousands of headlines that deserve to considered for the list. So many great ones are written every year. But there are some that simply rise above, and are just impossible to forget. Here are 10 headlines that deserve their place in advertising history.

Symbolist Artists

Romantic precursors if not mentors of Symbolist painting, included the following artists:

- John Henry Fuseli (1741-1825)
- Francisco Goya (1746-1828)
- William Blake (1757-1827)
- Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840)
- George Frederic Watts (1817-1904)
- Theodore Chasseriau (1819-1856)

The artists most closely identified with Symbolist art were those born during the decades of 1850s and 60s. It is best to classify them by nationality, since 19th Century art was primarily a regional affair.
