Must-Have Pieces In Your portfolio:

The quality of your art portfolio has the single biggest impact on your application to art school. It's critical that your portfolio shows off work that best represents your technical skills and perspective.

Foundation Year (First-Year Students):

The Foundation year is intensive, exciting, and challenging, and through it each student begins to find and define a distinctive visual voice. At the end of the year, students are well prepared to enter the all-elective sophomore year.

Drawing The Skull:

Drawing the skull itself, is something every art student will do at one point, but in this case I want you to push the creative story.

In the assignment, what I want you to do is keep the basic skull shape, but push whats happening around the skull. Their a few examples below of what i am talking about.

The concept and the style in which you develop this drawing will decide if the final piece really stands out as something different. Think about combinding multiple elements that may not be so obbvious. Maybe for some inspiration, resarch surealism

Pro Tip... Check out this video for the different blending techniques!

Section 1: Sportswear

Sportswear is an American fashion term originally used to describe separates, but which, since the 1930s, has come to be applied to day and evening fashions of varying degrees of formality that demonstrate a specific relaxed approach to their design, while remaining appropriate for a wide range of social occasions.

The term is not necessarily synonymous with activewear, clothing designed specifically for participants in sporting pursuits. Although sports clothing was available from European haute couture houses and "sporty" garments were increasingly worn as everyday or informal wear, the early American sportswear designers were associated with ready-to-wear manufacturers. While most fashions in America in the early 20th century were directly copied from, or influenced heavily by Paris, American sportswear became a home-grown exception to this rule.
